Overview of Rotational Molding
Which is a three-stage, no-pressure, plastic molding process, is an economical manufacturing method used for producing large or small seamless, light-weight, stress-free, one-piece, hollow plastic articles. Rotational moulding differs from all other processing methods in that the heating, melting, shaping, and cooling stages all occur after the polymer is placed in the mould, and no external pressure is applied during forming. The rotational molding process offers tremendous flexibility both in design and production. This unique process makes it possible to design very large hollow pieces in virtually any shape, size, color and configuration. The "double wall" construction creates a lightweight piece with good structural integrity. Rotational molding is economical for short production runs and prototypes as well as high volume production.
